Spring Contact Terminal (Screwless) for Electrical Accessories

Patent application no. 3165/MUM/2010

Fast and easy connection and assembly of electrical accessories

The accessories have terminals with a spring comprising of a base connector fixed to the body and a connector that moves along the vertical axis of the base connector. The connectors have perpendicular holes to insert wire. A spring between two connectors pushes them apart, creating pressure to hold the wire inserted in the holes.

The moving connector is pressed so the holes on both connectors align into a co-axial path. Wire is inserted and the connector is released, clamping the wire. An insulating cap on top allows safe operation in live circuits. This reduces assembly time and the possibility of loose connections.

Invention (What is New)

Normally electrical accessories use screw connectors, which require more time and effort to assemble. The spring connector design allows faster, easier, and more reliable wiring of circuit boards.

Diagram & Description

The spring connectors are easy to use: press the cap, insert the wire, and release.

Versions on Different Accessories

These terminals are useful in electrical accessories since they reduce the time required to connect and disconnect wires.
